Add your calculator to Wix

Wix runs embedded code inside its own frame. That works well for an inline calculator once the box is sized properly, but it changes how popups and floating bubbles behave — so the mode you pick matters more on Wix than elsewhere.

To embed a calculator on Wix, open the Wix Editor, click Add, choose Embed Code and then Embed HTML (the HTML iframe element), select Code, paste the code from your account's Embed tab and click Update. Then drag the element's handles so it is tall enough for the full calculator on desktop and mobile.

How it works, step by step

How it works, step by step

  1. Copy the code from your Embed tab

Choose the Inline mode, or the auto-resizing iframe mode, and copy the code.

  2. Add an Embed HTML element

In the Wix Editor, click Add Elements (+), choose Embed Code, then Embed HTML. An HTML iframe box appears on the page.

  3. Paste the code

Click Enter Code, make sure Code (not Website Address) is selected, paste the embed code and click Update.

  4. Size the box

Drag the element to the full width of your content area and make it tall enough that the calculator and its results show without an inner scrollbar.

  5. Check the mobile layout

Switch to the mobile editor and resize the element there too; Wix keeps separate sizes for mobile.

  6. Publish and test a lead

Publish the site, open the live page in a private window, complete the calculator and confirm the test lead reaches your contacts and webhook.

Common pitfalls

  • Leaving the HTML box at its default size — the calculator is cut off or scrolls inside the box. Size it generously, especially on mobile.
  • Expecting a popup or floating bubble to cover the whole page — inside Wix's frame it can only appear within the box. Use inline, or link a Wix button to the calculator's direct link.
  • Choosing Website Address instead of Code in the element settings — paste the code with Code selected.
  • Forgetting the mobile editor — a box sized on desktop can be far too short on a phone.
  • Judging by the editor preview — the code runs reliably only on the published or previewed site.
  • Adding the code through site-wide custom code settings and expecting it to appear in a specific spot — use the Embed HTML element for on-page placement.

Why does Wix behave differently from other builders?

Wix places any embedded HTML inside its own iframe, separate from the rest of your page. The calculator runs normally inside that box, but anything that tries to float over the page — a popup or a corner bubble — is limited to the box's edges. Inline placement avoids the issue entirely.

Because the box has a fixed height in Wix, the auto-resizing iframe mode may not be able to grow beyond it. Size the element for the calculator's longest state: all fields filled in and the results showing.

How do I open the calculator from a Wix button?

Copy the calculator's direct link from the Embed tab, add a standard Wix button with your own wording, and set its link to that web address, opening in the same or a new tab. This gives you a site-wide entry point without fighting the frame, and works on any page or in the header.

Keep the button wording consistent with what the tool is — 'Estimate your coverage need' rather than 'Get a quote', since the result is an estimate. Our compliance notes explain why.

Which Wix pages are best for a calculator?

Use the product pages for each line you write and a dedicated 'Planning tools' page. A visitor on your life insurance page is already thinking about coverage, so a life calculator there gives them a useful next step. A planning page with a multi-calculator widget suits visitors who haven't chosen a line yet.

FAQ

Questions agencies ask

Answers first, details after.

Do I need a premium Wix plan to embed the calculator?

The Embed HTML element is part of the Wix Editor; check Wix's current plan terms for your site, since requirements can change. Site-wide custom code features typically need a premium plan with a connected domain, but you don't need those for an on-page calculator.

Why is there a scrollbar inside my calculator on Wix?

The HTML element is shorter than the calculator. Drag its bottom handle down until the whole calculator, including results and the lead form, fits. Repeat in the mobile editor, where the calculator stacks into a longer column.

Can I use the floating bubble on Wix?

Not as a true site-wide bubble. Wix keeps embedded code in a frame, so the bubble would only appear inside that box. Instead, add a Wix button or menu item that links to the calculator's direct link.

Will Wix's site fonts apply to the calculator?

No. The calculator has its own fonts, theme and palette, set in your account. Choose settings that match your Wix design so the two sit together naturally.

Does the lead still record the Wix page it came from?

Yes, each lead stores the page URL and campaign attribution. Because Wix runs the code inside a frame, test once and check that the page and UTM fields fill in as you expect in your contacts and webhook payload.

Can I add more than one calculator to a Wix page?

You can add several Embed HTML elements, but a single multi-calculator widget is tidier: tabs or cards in one box, embedded once. It also keeps mobile sizing to one element instead of several.

The calculator loads in preview but not on my live site. Why?

Usually the site wasn't republished after the element was added or changed. Publish again and reload the live page in a private window. If it still fails, copy fresh code from the Embed tab and paste it again with Code selected.
