What standard do we aim for?
We aim for insurancequotewidget.com to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We design with keyboard-only use, screen readers, zoom and reduced-motion settings in mind, and we treat accessibility issues as bugs, not enhancements.
What accessibility features does the site include?
- Theme: light, dark, or automatic to follow your device setting.
- Colour palettes: alternative palettes, plus a high-contrast mode for stronger separation between text and background.
- Text size: enlarge text across the site without breaking the layout.
- Reduced motion: turns off parallax, drifting particles, rolling numbers and other animation. The site also respects your operating system's reduce-motion setting.
- Link highlighting: underlines and outlines every link so they are easy to spot.
- Keyboard access: every menu, control and form can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Skip link: the first item on every page jumps straight to the main content.
- Structure: headings in order, labelled form fields, descriptive link text and alternative text for meaningful images.
Your settings are stored in your browser (see the cookie policy) so they carry across pages.
What are the known limitations?
- Embedded calculators shown on this site are served by the calculator app and render in their own isolated container. They follow the agency's chosen theme and may not pick up every site setting, such as our high-contrast palette or text size.
- Legal pages are in English only. Product pages are available in other languages, but policies like this one are published in English.
- Some older images or third-party content may lack full descriptions; we fix these as we find them.
How do I report a barrier?
If something on the site is hard or impossible to use, tell us at [email protected] or through the contact page. Please include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you use. We will reply within 5 business days and, where we can, offer the information in another format while we fix the issue.
Are agencies' calculators accessible?
Agencies choose their own themes, colours and custom CSS for calculators on their websites. If you build a custom theme, check its colour contrast and focus styles, because the agency is responsible for the accessibility of its own website.
