Add your calculator to Webflow

Webflow's Embed element (Code Embed) holds custom HTML and scripts inside your layout. The calculator then behaves like any other element on the canvas — you control its container, width and spacing at each breakpoint.

To embed a calculator in Webflow, open the Designer, drag an Embed element from the Add panel into the section where the calculator should appear, paste the code from your account's Embed tab, save and close. Then publish the site and test it on the published URL, because scripts may not run on the Designer canvas.

How it works, step by step

How it works, step by step

  1. Copy the code from your Embed tab

Choose the Inline mode in your account and copy the code.

  2. Prepare a container

In the Webflow Designer, add a section or div block for the calculator and give it a sensible max width and padding.

  3. Add an Embed element

Open the Add panel, find Embed (Code Embed) under Components or Advanced, and drag it into your container.

  4. Paste the code and save

Paste the embed code into the HTML editor that opens, then click Save & Close.

  5. Check each breakpoint

Switch through tablet and mobile breakpoints to make sure the container stays full width and isn't limited by fixed heights.

  6. Publish and test

Publish to your domain, open the live page in a private window, complete the calculator and confirm the test lead arrived.

Common pitfalls

  • Judging by the Designer canvas — scripts may show only as a placeholder there. Test on the published site.
  • A fixed height on the container or Embed element — the calculator's results get clipped. Let height be auto.
  • Overflow set to hidden on a parent element — popups or long results can be cut off.
  • Custom code features that depend on your Webflow plan — check what your site plan allows before relying on site-wide code.
  • Testing only on the staging subdomain — confirm on the domain visitors will use, since that's the page URL your leads record.
  • Duplicating the floating bubble code in both page and site settings — the launcher appears twice.

How should I lay out the calculator in Webflow?

Give the calculator its own section with a max-width container, auto height and no overflow clipping. The calculator sizes itself to the space it gets, so the container decides how it looks. A width similar to your main reading column usually works well on desktop, and full width with modest padding on mobile.

Because the inline embed renders in an isolated container, Webflow classes don't style the calculator itself. Use them for the surrounding section only, and match the calculator's look with its theme, palette and fonts in your account.

Can I place calculators on Webflow CMS pages?

Yes. An Embed element inside a CMS template appears on every item that uses that template. That suits a 'Coverage guides' collection where each guide links to its line. If different items need different calculators, add a plain-text field holding each one's direct link and bind a button to it.

Each lead records the page URL, so even when one template serves many items you can tell which guide produced the lead.

How do I add a floating bubble to the whole Webflow site?

Paste the floating bubble code into the site-wide custom code area (before the closing body tag) in your project settings, then publish. It will appear on every page. If you only want it on certain pages, use each page's own custom code settings instead, and don't add it in both places.

A bubble that opens a multi-calculator widget lets visitors pick their line from anywhere. See multi-calculator widgets.

FAQ

Questions agencies ask

Answers first, details after.

Why does the Embed element look empty in the Designer?

Webflow doesn't always run outside scripts on the canvas, so you may see a placeholder. Publish and view the live page. If it's blank there too, check that the full code was pasted and that no parent element has a fixed height or hidden overflow.

Do I need a paid Webflow plan?

Custom code availability depends on your Webflow site and workspace plans, which Webflow sets and updates. Check your current plan's custom code features. A direct link to the calculator works whatever your plan.

Can Webflow interactions animate the calculator?

You can animate the section around it — for example, fading it in on scroll. Avoid transforms on the calculator's direct parent that could affect popups, and test on mobile after adding any interaction.

Will Webflow's global styles change the calculator?

No. The inline embed is isolated from your site's CSS. Set its fonts, palette, theme and light or dark mode in your account to match the site.

Can I use one calculator across many Webflow pages?

Yes. Paste the same code into an Embed element on each page or into a reusable component. Leads record the page they came from, so you can compare placements.

How do I keep UTM tags when visitors arrive from ads?

Nothing extra is needed. The calculator captures UTM tags, click IDs, referrer, landing page and first-touch source with the lead. Just tag the links in your ads and emails consistently.

Can I open the calculator from an existing Webflow button?

Yes. Use the 'your own link or button' trigger mode from the Embed tab, or simply point the button at the calculator's direct link if you'd rather it open as its own page.
